The Summer of Shawshank kicks off with the first-ever Shawshank Trail Treasure Hunt Map, created by the Mansfield/Richland County CVB.
Shawshank fans, visitors and individuals who enjoy a good “hunt” will have fun finding 13 filming sites and 11 Shawshank souvenir locations. All locations are within Mansfield, Ashland and Upper Sandusky.
The map is filled with unique, fun pictures of the sites (13 of them) where Hollywood filmed over 20 years ago and Shawshank souvenir locations (11 of them) of local businesses that have created their own Shawshank souvenirs for fans. Yes, some of the photos are challenging, but other photos are easily identifiable. This is a fun activity for people to do throughout the week or weekend driving The Shawshank Trail to find all these locations. It’s another way to get them back on The Shawshank Trail.
The Treasure Hunt Map promotion runs from May 12-August 1, leading up to the 20th Anniversary celebration (August 29-31) of the release of The Shawshank Redemption. One winner with all the correct answers will be drawn randomly from all entrants. The winner will be notified by August 8. Completed forms should be returned in person or by mail by 5:00pm on August 1 to the Mansfield CVB office (124 N. Main St., Mansfield, 44902). Maps are available at:
