Enjoy FREE Boat Rides on Pleasant Hill Lake during the 2010 North Central Ohio Safe Boating and Fishing Festival. This Free festival will be held Saturday June 12th from 11am till 5:30 pm at Pleasant Hill Lake Park. Admission to the park will be free for the festival. Included will be free pontoon boat rides, and motorboat rides. Free sailboat rides will be provided by the Mansfield Sailing Club and free Kayaking will give you a chance to try a Kayak from Fin Feather and Fur. Safe boating displays and information will be available too.

 The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will be netting off an area in Pleasant Hill Marina and stocking it with fish. This kid’s free fishing area will have everything your need including fishing poles, bait, and instruction provided so children can enjoy fishing. There will also be a Bassmater Casting Contest for kids age 7-14.

The Mansfield Power Squadron and the ODNR Division of Watercraft will offer a chance for you to pass the Ohio Boating Education exam. Ohio law requires persons born on or after January 1, 1982 to complete an approved safe boating course in order to operate a powerboat over 10 hp. This test will fill that requirement.

All scheduled events are free of charge. A wavier of liability form must be completed by a parent or guardian. All persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All events are weather dependant. Last years festival was recognized as a Program Achievement Award Winner by ODNR Division of Watercraft.

Festival hours are Saturday June 12th from 11 am till 5:30 pm. Pleasant Hill Lake Park is located on State Route 95 between Butler and Perrysville.
