Summer fun has come to Richland County this July! Don’t miss out on any of the action with The Destination Mansfield – Richland County calendar of events.

Spend the weekend immersed in Native American culture at 33rd Annual Great Mohican Pow-Wow (July 7-9). Sample the foods, hear the stories and see demonstrations of dance, survival and skill. Cycle down to Shelby Bicycle Days (July 13-15) and take a bike tour. Or stick around downtown for food, rides, fireworks and a parade. Looking for something off the beaten path? Experience true rock and roll at the Ink in the Clink: Tattoo & Musical Festival (July 14-16) hosted by The Ohio State Reformatory. Meet over 100 of the best tattoo artists, listen to more than 15 bands, browse the vendors and take the opportunity to go on a ghost hunt of the prison.

Take the day off for an adventure with some unique events coming up in July! Grab your partner and kick up your heels at the Malabar Farm State Park Liberty Barn Dance (July 1). Enjoy a concert and fireworks for the 4th of July at Lexington’s Pastoral in the Park (July 4). Pleasant Hill Lake Park hosts three great Saturdays in a row. See Santa arrive via Jet Ski for the Christmas in July & Fireworks Celebration (July 15). Put on your bathing suit and bring the kids for Mermaid Fantasy Day (July 22). Come back on the final Saturday for the Wild West Fest & Log Rolling Competition (July 29).

Discover the plants and animals of Richland County this summer. Enjoy a kid friendly program of Amazon Eric’s Animals (July 1) for a chance to handle live snakes, spiders, insects and more. Bring the kids back to Pleasant Hill Lake Park on Mondays (July 1-August 5) for the Explorers of Nature Series. Kids will learn about different topics each week with outdoor exploration, games, and a craft. See beautifully grown flowers at the Kingwood Center Gardens Ohio DayLily and Lily Society Show (July 8-9). Check out the different camps offered for kids ages 6-12 at The Ohio Bird Sanctuary in July and August. Summer Nature Camps incorporate games, hikes, crafts, animal encounters and learning activities.

Whether you want to feel the thrill of the race or just peruse interesting cars, Mansfield is the place to be this month. We kick off the holiday with The Freedom 50 (July 2) at Mansfield Motor Speedway. Come back on July 16 for the second race of The Triple Crown Spring Series. The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course features The AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days (July 7-9) and The Verizon IndyCar Series: The Honda Indy 200 (July 28-30). Stop for lunch and cars at the Classic Car Cruise-In (July 6) at Der Dutchman Restaurant. Take a step back in time at Malabar Farm for The Sunday Drive Car Show (July 30), including classic cars, era-appropriate music and old-fashioned foods.
