Destination Mansfield–Richland County welcomes Laura Huntington, our new Communications Assistant, to the staff. The newly-created position furthers the office’s efficiency in communicating the vast scope of the organization’s marketing messages to the community, media outlets, visitors, and members.

Did you know that Mansfield, Ohio is home to FIVE Haunted Sites? Not just one, but five! Did you know that Mansfield has seven locations on their Wine and Ale Trail? As an Ashland University student participating in an internship program at Destination Mansfield – Richland County, I had no idea how many great places were available to me right here in Mansfield, Ohio. I am excited to share a few of the favorites I’ve discovered.
The annual EXPY Awards, presented by the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education (NOCHE), recognizes and honors the best companies, interns, supervisors and college advisors in Northeast Ohio. Because of the successful internship program at Destination Mansfield – Richland County, Amber Dobbins, Operations/Member Services Director, was selected to be one of eight judges for this year’s EXPYS.

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is holding its 13th annual job fair seeking seasonal employees for its 2017 race season. The job fair takes place Friday, March 31 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, April 1 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the Cooper Tires Tower located in the garage area of the track.
Race season kicks off a bit earlier this year with the bold move by Mansfield Motor Speedway to return to their dirt track roots. The season opener is March 25 and offers spring races for 3 weekends for the Triple Crown Spring Spring Series. Bees, bats, and birds headline the area’s premier nature event in April. Celebrating their 16th year, Mohican Wildlife Weekend features the importance of bees (especially honey bees) and other pollinators like bats and birds to the health and vibrancy of our food system.
